Who we are:
The I.N.D.U.C.K.S. is an ambitious worldwide project (sponsored by the Italian "Centro Nazionale del Fumetto") determined to gather, in an accessible way, data about Disney stories and issues all over the world!
Data are gathered by willing people spread over about twenty countries, from Holland to France, from Germany to Brasil, from the US to Italy - Italy, indeed! We, in this case, are the "crazy" ones, busy, in some years, patiently indexing authors, titles, characters, from Disney stories produced or published in Italy.
Our engagement is hard, since Italy, now, is among the major producer of Disney stories in the world: in 2003 we indexed almost 10,000 Disney-comic pages "made in Italy"!!
The Internet has been the tool to organize our workgroup, and now that we have a great deal of data, we've thought that the Internet itself would be the best way to spread them.
Our information is divided in two great groups:
  • STORIES: authors (artists, writers, inkers, etc.), titles, characters, creation dates and all kinds of information related to the story itself.
  • ISSUES: complete indexes of every single issue, pocket, book, magazine or anything else published in Italy since the 30's, with detailed notes about possible modifications of the reprints and cross-references to the original versions of the stories produced abroad.
Through the "sea of paper" published every year in Italy by Disney, a story, especially if it's a good one, is reprinted several times through the years, and most of the times it is not possible to spot right away editions suitable for all kinds of pockets: why should one spend more than 50 Euros for a "Topolino" issue from the 50's just to read a story reprinted a few years ago on "Topomistery"? Probably because one doesn't know about the relatively easy-to-find reprint of the story.
These data have been available for several years, in different forms, on the Internet; this page has the purpose to gather these sources and show them to the public, so to get a better visibility of our work and one only "supply" source for who, like you who've kept reading this far, is interested in having as many data as possible about Disney stories!

Where we are:
The output of our activity can be found on various websites. We invite you to start from the one where the Italian section of I.N.D.U.C.K.S. began, and where are collected all the relevant data about the stories produced in Italy and their reprints on Italian issues. Then, you will surely find interesting to check what was the content of Topolino 185, or the stories made by Cavazzano or Scarpa, and in which Italian issues you can find them, this is the website you're looking for.
There is also an official site of the I.N.D.U.C.K.S. project, featuring the technical specifications of our indexes. In this other site you'll find the whole set of data collected so far by the I.N.D.U.C.K.S. team (that is, the indexes for all countries).
Now, to the many sites devoted to the world of Disney comics...
Among the Italian members of the I.N.D.U.C.K.S. team, the most prolific is surely the wicked Eta Beta. His magic pocket deals with all his web activities related to disney comics. Among his works, a very outstanding one is his cover extravaganza, providing you with everything you always wanted to see about the covers of Disney comics around the globe. Then Romano Scarpa inspired two other sites: one from the "usual" Eta Beta with his last balaboo with many images from Scarpa's stories and another one made by Francesco Spreafico with a deep analisys of Scarpa's way of working. Also Francesco Gerbaldo, a young admirer of Luciano Gatto's work, made this website devoted to the Venetian artist.
Then, pay a visit to the sites of the "historical" Italian experts of Disney comicdom: Leonardo Gori, Luca Boschi, Alberto Becattini and Frank Stajano.
Finally, travel around the world to see the web pages of our foreign colleagues, collected in the I.N.D.U.C.K.S. portal.

What we're looking for...
...as far as Italian Disney comics are concerned, of course!!! :-)
Many series have been indexed already, but many others are very far from completion... One that we deem particularly important is "Albi d'oro" (including their various reprints). But we need data also for easier to find series, such as "Topogeo", "Il club delle Giovani Marmotte" e "Disney Enigmistica"... in short, there's still a lot of work to do. So, if you'd like to lend us a hand, you're really welcome!!! We have a complete list of all the series we haven't indexed yet, or have indexed only partially. Note that the list only covers the series whose existence is known to us... which doesn't necessarily mean there aren't any others!
